During the deadly, devastating George Floyd riots, Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explicitly promoted violent, terroristic rioting as a valid means to an end.

But now that violent riots have been adopted by some of President Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters, the propagandists on the Democrat lawmaker’s communications team are desperate to keep the truth hidden from the public.
Early Wednesday evening, AOC’s communications director, Lauren Hitt, posted a tweet informing the public that she’d asked Twitter to censor and silence conservatives who are spreading so-called “misinformation” about her boss.
In the tweet, Hitt specifically referenced provocative tweets AOC had posted herself, late last year — that Hitt complained conservatives were now retweeting — in which the congresswoman had defended the so-called summer “protesting” because “[i]t wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction.”
Traction on what? On specifically the movement to “defund the police.”

What if activists aren’t PR firms for politicians & their demands are bc police budgets are exploding, community resources are shrinking to bankroll it, & ppl brought this up for ages but it wasn’t until they said “defund” that comfortable people started paying attn to brutality
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) December 2, 2020
The thing that critics of activists don’t get is that they tried playing the “polite language” policy game and all it did was make them easier to ignore.
It wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction to do ANYTHING even if it wasn’t their full demands.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) December 2, 2020
The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable.
Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows.
To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable… that’s the point.

This isn’t even the most provocative thing the congresswoman said. During the George Floyd riots, she argued that allegedly “marginalized” people “have no choice but to riot.”
She issued the remarks two weeks after an Antifa extremist had fire-bombed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Tacoma, Washington. When asked at the time to condemn the attack, she refused to answer.

In fact, all members of the so-called “Squad” refused to condemn the act of extremism.
Similarly, all members of the “Squad” failed to address legitimate concerns over whether their own extremist rhetoric — false claims that ICE was running “concentration camps,” for instance — had played a role in inspiring the terrorist attack.
But now that some members of the right have adopted the left’s rioting, AOC has suddenly become a staunch opponent of rioting — justifiably so, granted.
However, the problem isn’t her newfound stance against rioting — it’s her galling hypocrisy and, more notably, her attempts to hide it from the public.

.@AOC’s Comms Director here. Right-wing accounts are taking the last tweet from this old thread on the ‘defund’ mvmnt & twisting it to imply AOC supports violence like what’s happening at the Capitol. We asked @Twitter to stop the misinfo, but as we wait, you can help with a RT. https://t.co/BCiUco2H3l

It’s not “misinfo” to note that AOC was a full-fledged supporter of violent, deadly riots when those riots were being committed by left-wing extremists. It’s fact.
It’s also not “misinfo” to note that the riots AOC unabashedly supported engendered $2 billion, yes, that’s billion— with a “B”– in property damage throughout the country, not to mention dozens of murders, and dozens of businesses/homes completely demolished.
Nor is it “misinfo” to point out that this damage far surpassed the damage that was incurred because of the storming of the U.S. Capitol:
It’s objectively true that today’s protests in Capitol don’t compare to the murders and arson of 2020 from the far left.
– Dozens of murders.
– Billions of dollars of destruction.
– Homes burned.
It’s also true that those facts don’t matter.
Today was a catastrophe.

Yet despite the damages from Wednesday’s riot being far less than the damage from the summer riots, conservative and congressional Republicans have rushed to condemn the behavior of the president’s most hardcore supporters — and rightly so.
But when left-wing extremists destroyed people’s homes and livelihoods during the summer, the same left-wing demagogues now screaming foul — justifiably, granted — over Wednesday’s horrific rioting were singing a different tune.
They were also singing a different tune when left-wing extremists stormed the U.S. Capitol during Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s hearings.
The evidence is legion, though here are just a few examples:

What does @ChrisCuomo think of what’s happening at the Capitol today?

This stunning contrast between the left’s current rhetoric and their past rhetoric suggests that their ideology isn’t rooted in consistent principles but rather partisanship.
If their ideology were rooted in consistent principles, then they would have followed the path of Republicans who’ve condemned both the Antifa riots and Wednesday’s riots.
But they haven’t, and that seems to speak volumes about who they truly are as people …
