A scheme concocted by the Biden regime to actively police what people share on the internet is running into a snag, thanks to efforts by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) to kill it before it even gets off the ground.
Legislation proposed by Boebert would defund the Department of Homeland Security‘s (DHS) new disinformation board, which has been tasked with eliminating “misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia” from social media.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently appeared on fake news corporation CNN to reveal that the new disinformation unit will not have “operational authority,” but will rather “disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing and addressing this threat for years.”
Boebert wants to nip the thing in the bud before it ever gets launched, which she hopes to do by getting her new legislation passed as soon as possible.
“This kind of stuff is terrifying,” Boebert said during a Fox News segment about the Biden regime’s new Ministry of Truth. “We in Congress have the power of the purse. It is our duty to shut down this department immediately.”
“I’m calling on leadership in the Republican Party – Leader McCarthy, Whip Scalise, and others — to join me in calling for this department to be shut down and defunded.”
Boebert went on to state that not a single tax dollar should be used to fund any federal attempt at trampling the First Amendment and silencing the truth online “like Big Tech did with the Hunter Biden story.”
Comparing the Biden regime’s Ministry of Truth to what George Orwell warned about in his famous book 1984, Boebert further chastised Democrats for taking that literary piece and using it as a guide rather than a warning.
“This really is a department of propaganda,” Boebert stated plainly about the situation. “To say that the federal department has a say in what’s right and what’s wrong. What’s truth and what is not. This is a very dangerous place that we’ve come to.”
Boebert is now looking for co-sponsors for her bill and is expected to introduce it officially in the next week.
Nina Jankowicz, the woman chosen to head up Biden’s new Ministry of Truth, has publicly stated that free speech makes her “shudder.” The use of this one word tells us everything we need to know about what will happen should the DHS be allowed to proceed with the agenda.
“She also ludicrously cited Christopher Steele as an expert on disinformation,” wrote Sean Adl-Tabatabai about Jankowicz’s errant positions.
“Steele was the author of the infamous Clinton campaign-funded Trump ‘peegate dossier’ that turned out to be an actual product of disinformation. Jankowicz previously called Elon Musk an ‘online abuser,’ while arguing for more censorship when she asserted, ‘The ‘free speech vs. censorship’ framing is a false dichotomy.'”
In the comment section at Newspunch, someone wrote that it is highly unlikely that mainstream RINO (Republican in Name Only) politicians wills support Boebert’s bill, which could kill it right out of the gate.
“As long as the Democrats control the Congress, I don’t hold out much hope that the bill will pass,” wrote another, skeptical about the likelihood of this actually moving forward.
“But I’m extremely doubtful that the Democrats will even allow the midterm elections to be held. They know that if the elections do take place, they will lose in a landslide … Therefore, I wouldn’t put it past these globalists to create a false flag event so they can declare martial law and suspend the elections.”
